Cream is used in many desserts. Cream not only enriches the taste of our desserts, but also plays a good decorative role. How should we choose cream when making desserts at home? Usually we divide cream into two types, one is animal cream and the other is vegetable cream. What is the difference between the two types of cream and how should we choose?

Animal cream is a pure natural product extracted from milk. The color is mostly milky white to yellow. The main ingredient is milk, so it contains nutrients such as protein and calcium. Animal cream itself is sugar-free. It needs to be whipped together with sugar during the whipping process. It can be used to make cakes, biscuits, bread and ice cream. It can also be used to decorate desserts. But because the melting point of animal cream is relatively low, It has poor stability and is relatively easy to melt at room temperature, so it is not suitable for long-term storage and production of complex decorative shapes.

Vegetable cream, also known as margarine, is synthesized through artificial processing. The color is bright white and the main ingredient is vegetable oil and other additives. The whipping and use of vegetable cream is the same as animal cream. It has better stability than animal cream. It is not easy to melt and can be stored for a long time, so it is more suitable for decoration with complex shapes. However, because of the more additives of vegetable cream, the taste is not as good as animal cream. The cream is smooth and greasy. The price of vegetable butter is cheaper than animal butter, but vegetable butter is not suitable for long-term consumption and is not good for health.
