Industrially used as a buffer and culture agent; also used as a bacterial culture agent to synthesize sake flavoring, a raw material for making potassium metaphosphate, a culture agent, intensifier, leavening agent, and fermentation aid for brewing yeast. Used in agriculture as high-efficiency phosphate-potassium compound fertilizer
