Features

Propylene Glycol PG has good water absorption and solubility. It can dissolve certain substances better than water, and at the same time, it can retain water well. Therefore, Methyl Ethylene Glycol is often added to processed foods and beverages. Occasionally, people may confuse organic propylene glycol with ethylene glycol because both have low melting points and are used in antifreeze. But they are not the same substance but two different products. Ethylene glycol is highly toxic to humans and cannot be used in food.

Application

1. Propylene Glycol PG is mainly used as a solvent for various spices, pigments, and preservatives, and as an extraction solvent for vanilla beans, roasted coffee grains, and natural flavors.
2. 1 2 Propylene Glycol can be regarded as moisturizing and softening agent for candy, bread, packaged meat, cheese, etc. It can also be used as an anti-mold additive for noodles and stuffing cores.
