Gardenia Yellow

Gardenia yellow (crocin, gardenia yellow), alias crocin, commonly known as yellow gardenia, belongs to carotenoid series, molecular formula is C44H64O24, relative molecular weight is 976.97. It is the yellow pigment in gardenia, and its yellow component is crocin, which is a carotenoid pigment, which is the same as crocin in saffron.

Our chemsino's gardenia yellow can be used in fruit juice (flavored) beverages, mixed wines, makeup on pastries, popsicles, ice cream, puffed foods, jellies, pastries, candies and canned chestnuts.

APPLICATIONS:

1. Food industry

The yellow pigment can inhibit the oxidation of 80% linoleic acid, so it can be used as an antioxidant in food processing; In the range of visible light (40lun -700nln), the irradiation of light is stable, but the irradiation of light in the wavelength range of 250nm-390nm is unstable. Therefore, the yellow pigment can be used as an antioxidant and colorant in the food industry.

The yellow pigment has excellent dyeing ability to protein, starch, etc., and can be widely used in various foods such as cakes, candies, flour, beverages, jellies, biscuits, and ice cream.

2. Silk fabric

Studies have shown the dyeing properties of natural gardenia yellow on silk fabrics. The dyeing conditions were changed, the direct dyeing method and the mordant dyeing method were used to dye the silk, and the optimized dyeing process was obtained by orthogonal test analysis. The results show that: Gardenia yellow can directly dye silk fabrics, and the amount of dye has the greatest influence on the dyeing result, and the improvement of dye is better. 

3. Pharmaceutical industry

Yellow pigment  contains a certain amount of saffron acid with high medical value, such as blood circulation, blood circulation, fatigue elimination, pain relief, and blood pressure reduction. It can be applied to the pharmaceutical industry.
